DJing as ‘Customs’
Macki Off Festival, Paris
I’m not a “professional DJ” but I do get paid to do it.
In the last few years I’ve been booked to play in Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Barcelona, Florence, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Cologne, Lyon, Bordeaux and Skopje. I’ve played at festivals like Nuits Sonores and Macki, cultural institutions like Tate Modern, and clubs like XOYO and La Machine du Moulin Rouge.
In London, I’m a resident at The Standard and the audiophile venues Brilliant Corners and GIANT STEPS, where I help programme. I’m a regular guest on NTS Radio and have a bimonthly show on Kiosk Radio Brussels as part of their Outsiders programme.
I did an interview for Stamp The Wax here about the cassettes I listened to in my mum’s car as a kid, swapping MiniDiscs and other questionable things I do in pursuit of strange or unknown music today.
Before I plucked up the courage to DJ in public, I used to perform live visuals for other artists, which I’ve written about for Red Bull Music here.
