Guy Bingley

Creative Director, Writer & DJ, London

Hello there. I’m a creative director, writer and DJ with a background in language(s) and film.

Before I moved to London, I worked as a researcher in 18th century literature, a writer for a bilingual Brazilian magazine and a performer of live visuals in clubs.

One day I wrote to an advertising creative director, because I liked how they spoke about their craft. They gave me a job as a copywriter, and 17 years later that’s still at the core of what I do.

I worked myself up to creative director on Nike at AKQA, running a team of 20+ on their biggest app. I made installations, games, platforms and content series for Nike Global, EMEA and Japan across Football, Running, Training, Skateboarding and more I’ve forgotten I’m sure.

In 2015, I went freelance and since then I’ve mainly worked in-house at Airbnb, Apple/ Beats by Dre, Google and Strava. Some highlights: launching Airbnb’s biggest brand campaign, directing a doc about a World Record that aired on Eurosport and helping the UN stop misinformation about the Syrian refugee crisis.

At Airbnb, I get to work with talented writers in 10 different languages, carefully seeking the right tone of voice, and learn new eye-rolling puns daily.

I love to collaborate with curious, creative and questioning people to get at stories with heart. If you have a project large or small that feels right, or if you’re curious about mentoring (I’m a mentor with Who’s Your Momma), please get in touch. Just promise not to “reach out”.
